A rural homestead built on land handed down through the generations. ‘Sunny Homestead’ needed to connect with its beautiful surrounds. It had to be a functional working farm homestead and somewhere you could relax after a long day.
No structural changes were to be made, and the flooring had to remain. A fresh coat of paint using bold greens and red earthy tones in the bedrooms to add depth. A lighter, softer palette in the living areas to create a lightness and sense space. The lighter palette was also chosen not to detract from the expansive views of the landscape.
The use of raw timber, leather and rattan provided the kitchen, dining and family areas a beautiful space with rich textures, complimented with the use of natural linen, metal and glass light fittings.
